Privacy and Security Policy

 

General “Sifrei Torah Yerushalayim” (hereinafter: “the Site”) respects the privacy of its customers and is committed to protecting the personal information shared with us. The purpose of this document is to explain transparently what information is collected, how we use it, and how we protect it.

 

  1. Voluntary Collection of Personal Information When making a purchase on the Site, subscribing to a newsletter, or submitting details through a contact form, we may collect the information you voluntarily provide: full name, email address, telephone number, and shipping and billing address.
  2. Collection of Technological Information, Cookies, and Pixels In addition to the information you provide to us, the Site uses standard and accepted technologies to collect information (such as “Cookies,” “Pixels,” “Tags”) from third parties, including: Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook (Meta) Pixel, and similar services.

The information collected through these means includes:

  • Anonymous Statistical Information – without exposing user details: browser type, device type (mobile/desktop), pages viewed, duration of time spent on the Site, and where you clicked.
  • Information for Advertising Purposes (Targeting): This information enables us to display personalized advertisements (Remarketing) to you across the web (for example: on Facebook, Instagram, or Google) after you have visited the Site, based on the products in which you showed interest.

The purpose of using this information:

  • Service Improvement: Better understanding of user behavior in order to improve the Site’s structure and user experience.
  • Security: Verification of details and protection against fraud.
  • Advertising and Marketing: Customizing the content and advertisements displayed to you so that they are of interest to you, and preventing the display of irrelevant advertisements.
  1. Payment Processing and Credit Card Details We take the strictest precautionary measures to maintain the confidentiality of financial information. It is important to emphasize: customers’ credit card details are not stored in the Site’s databases and are not accessible to the Site’s staff. Payment processing is conducted through a secure external payment processor that complies with the stringent international PCI-DSS security standard.
  2. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties We commit not to trade, sell, or transfer your personal details to third parties, except in the following cases necessary for the performance of the service:
  • Shipping companies (for the purpose of delivering the product).
  • Payment processors (for the purpose of authorizing the transaction).
  • Technology providers (Google/Facebook) as mentioned above, for the purpose of analysis and advertising.
  • If we are required to do so by a lawful court order.

Direct Marketing We may send you marketing information, promotions, and offers by email or SMS, but only if you have given your explicit consent (at the time of purchase or when subscribing to the newsletter). You may remove your name from the mailing list at any time and easily by using the “unsubscribe” link that appears at the bottom of every mailing.
  2. Use of AI tools to run the shop To run the shop day to day (handling orders, inquiries and stock) our team uses a digital assistant based on artificial intelligence from an external provider. For this purpose, information from orders and inquiries — such as name, phone, e-mail, shipping address and order details — may be passed to the assistant, only to the extent needed to handle them. Credit card details are never passed to the assistant and are not stored on the site. Access is limited to people authorised by us, is secured, and every action is logged. The information may be processed on the provider’s servers outside Israel, subject to the provider’s privacy terms. The assistant does not make automated decisions about you: every action is taken on behalf of, and under the responsibility of, our team.
  3. Details saved at checkout and cart reminders When you enter an e-mail address on the checkout page, we save the contact details you entered (name, phone and e-mail) and the contents of your cart, so that we can send you one reminder with your cart if the order was not completed, and get back to you if you have a question. You can opt out of these reminders with the link at the bottom of the e-mail or by contacting us.
  4. Information Security The Site is secured with SSL protocol (communication encryption indicated by a padlock symbol in the browser). We operate advanced protection systems to safeguard information. However, since this is an online environment, it is not possible to guarantee absolute hermetic immunity from malicious intrusions.
