How to Purchase a Torah Scroll Without Losing Your Mind or Your Wallet?

In the past, purchasing a Torah scroll was a particularly arduous task. The buyer had to find a suitable God-fearing and experienced scribe and hope that he was currently available to write the Torah scroll. From there, the buyer had to attend to hundreds of small details on the way to the final Torah dedication procession.

This is in addition to the need to arrange the sums of money required for the sacred yet expensive work, and to distribute them among the various craftsmen needed in the complex process.

Of course, the more places one needs to contact, the more room there is for errors and for making unnecessary/incorrect purchases that are irreversible. Each person sells something different and the customer is usually not well-versed in the quality of the products and their suitability for his Torah scroll

Into this vacuum came the Jerusalem expert, Rachamim Chaoui. “I came to the conclusion that there is a real need to bring order to things, and therefore I established my Torah scroll institute ‘Sifrei Torah Jerusalem,’ which simplifies the process and makes it much more logical and precise.”

Chaoui explains that he meets with the client from the very first stage and helps him find everything in one place at reasonable prices. “Most of the work is done at our location, whether it is new premium Torah scrolls or repairing used Torah scrolls. Working in one place helps achieve a higher level of compatibility, which raises the quality of the Torah scrolls by several degrees. It is both a more beautiful mitzvah and a great convenience.”

Of course, there is no need to decide everything immediately. Some people choose the parchment and the scribe at the beginning of the process and only after six months choose the mantle, the atzei chaim, and the crown, according to the Torah scroll that was ordered. “It is easier and more efficient, and in many cases also more beautiful,” says Chaoui.

The ability to work with one person who manages the other suppliers also allows for more convenient handling of financial matters. A Torah scroll is not inexpensive, and often many people share its costs, in memory of their loved ones or as a donation for their synagogue. “When dealing with ‘Sifrei Torah Jerusalem,’ it is possible to create a payment arrangement from everyone through me, and I am the one who arranges the collection via credit and arranges the payments for the Torah scroll,” says Chaoui, adding, “Many people who previously purchased a Torah scroll the old way and then purchased a Torah scroll from me do not stop thanking me for the solution that made the process more beautiful and precise, as well as more convenient in terms of pricing and payment method.”

And now a special limited-time offer that will enable anyone to purchase a Torah scroll in memory of their loved ones, without running around.

You will receive a package that includes everything: a premium Torah scroll, a select Torah scroll case, accompaniment on the day of the Torah dedication including a dedicated sofer STaM, an elegant vehicle for the Torah procession, and a dedication in the Torah scroll – at a special price!
